Jamestown, Westfield & Northwestern
Line Car 307
Jamestown, Westfield and Northwestern Railroad Line Car 307 is shown
in this undated photograph from the Bill Volkmer collection.
Jamestown, Westfield and Northwestern Line Car
307, along with her sister car number 306, was built
in 1914 by the Cincinnati Car Company as an express car to match the 300-305
series of passenger cars. After the passenger cars were rebuilt with baggage
compartments, it was converted to a line car to maintain the overhead power
wires along the line.
This June 1935 photo from the John Woodbury collection shows the car in
Jamestown before it was converted to a line car.
An August 1941 photo from the John Woodbury collection shows the car in
Jamestown.
