History
The Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railroad was a predecessor of the more well-known Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway.
The Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad was basically a paper railroad that was organized in August 1881 to build a line from Machias to Buffalo. A little over a month later, on September 28, the company was merged into the Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad .
