"That the Eric Company, by an artful contrivance made with Mr. McHENRY and others, got a lease of the Atlantic and Great Western Company at the end of 1868, and that the payment of all rent has been evaded, are but too well known by those most interested. When tile lease was made, the character of the Erie managers was not so well developed, and Judge BARNARD had not granted so many Injunctions by scores."
