Collapse on B&SW Railroad

Wednesday afternoon of last week, while laborers were working on the B. & S. W. R. R. fill at Allen's Gulf, New. York., a large quantity of dirt broke loose from the top and came down, burying Peter Peterson, a Norwegian, breaking his right leg below the knee, causing a compound fracture of the neck, of the left thigh bone, and breaking the third, fourth, and fifth ribs of the right side. But little hope is entertained of his recovery. This is the second serious accident which has happened at this place, and those having charge of the work are censured for carelessness. Maybe if something more severe than a censure were meted out such accidents would diminish.
