Wm. Kearns, one of the workmen engaged in filling in the trestle at Gowanda was crushed to death on Thursday by a falling chunk of frozen earth. Another laborer was caught and slightly injured. The managers are censured with gross carelessness for allowing the men to shovel beneath the overhanging ledges.
