Avoca, New York was served by the main line of the Delaware Lackawanna & Western and the Corning Branch of the Erie Railroad. It was also the southern terminus of the Kanona and Prattsburgh Railroad.

The Erie Railroad ran through the center of Kanona, as shown in the map above. The 1898 Sanborn map below shows the location of the Erie station just northwest of North Street.


The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western line ran to the west of downtown and the Genesee River.
