Erie-Lackawanna
in Jamestown, NY
These photos were taken in and around the Jamestown
area in the late 1960's and early 1970's. They show some of the variety of passenger
and freight engines that used to work in and pass through the area.
Erie-Lackawanna 832
This undated photo shows E-L 832, originally Erie 832. This E-8A passenger locomotive
was Erie and E-L class PE-22 and was built in 1951.
Erie-Lackawanna 1046
This photo from December 1969 shows Erie-Lackawanna 1046 (originally DL&W 908),
an Alco RS-3 in front of the Jamestown passenger station.
Erie-Lackawanna 1240
This July 1971 photo shows E-L 1240, originally Erie 1240, an EMD GP-7. The
Erie and E-L classified this model as class MFSE-15.
Erie-Lackawanna 7131
These photos show E-L 7131, an F7A, originally Erie 713A, heading east at the
Jamestown station in the August 1973 heat.
