Falconer Junction, New York

Falconer Junction was just south of downtown Falconer, New York where the Dunkirk, Allegany Valley and Pittsburgh Railroad (DAVP) crossed the tracks of the Atlantic & Great Western Railway (A&GW) and the Buffalo and Southwestern Railroad (both later part of the Erie Railroad).

This 1912 photo shows a train on the Buffalo & Southwestern tracks coming west towards the B&SW passenger station (not shown on the map). Moving from left to right across the photo are the B&SW passenger station, the Erie Railroad freight house, the interlocking tower controlling the junction (known as DV Tower on the Erie) and the "Union House" shown on the map.

This 1886 map shows the Buffalo & Southwestern Railroad freight house on the northwest corner of their intersection with the DAVP, the New York, Pennsylvania & Ohio Railroad (NYPANO) (successor to the A&GW) passenger depot on the south side of their track, just west of the DAVP crossing and the NYPANO freight house on the north side of their tracks.

This 1909 photo shows the track side of the former B&SW passenger station at Falconer.  The depot was not shown on the map above, but would have been located approximately where the arrowhead is to the left of the B&SW track.
