East Salamanca, New York

East Salamanca (shown on the 1900 topographic map above as Salamanca Junction) was a major operational hub of the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway in Western New York.  In its heyday the BR&P had a large yard, roundhouse, locomotive repair shop, dispatcher's office, YMCA, and passenger station.  For more information about each of these, please click on the links above.

This image from Google Earth shows the location of the BR&P yard in East Salamanca.  The white rectangles are the foundations of the locomotive repair shop and freight house.  The image below shows the location of the roundhouse just south of those structures.
