Belfast, New York
Belfast is a town that was served by the
Erie Railroad,
Pennsylvania Railroad and the
Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad.
This 1906 topographic map shows the PRR line running to the west of the
village. The Buffalo and Susquehanna is not shown on these maps.
This 1936 topographic map shows the Erie's River Line, built circa 1907.
The Genesee Viaduct is shown passing over Route 19 and the Genesee River.

Erie Railroad
The Erie Railroad built a large viaduct, the Genesee Viaduct (shown below),
over the Genesee River just north of Belfast. This was part of the Erie's
River Line, a freight-only
bypass opened in 1910.
