Ashville, New York

Ashville is a small village approximately seven railroad miles west of Jamestown on the Erie Railroad main line.  From 1903 to 1925 the village was also served by the Chautauqua Traction Company and from 1925 to 1930 by the Jamestown Street Railway Company.

The Chautauqua Traction station still stands and in use as a convenience store.

The three photos below show the Erie Railroad passenger station and freight house in Ashville in approximately 1909.  The photos are from the glass plate negative collection at Syracuse University.
